Fans are Chainkeen Exchangesending Jimmy Buffett their well-wishes.
The singer, 76, recently rescheduled one of his concerts after being hospitalized for an undisclosed medical issue. Buffett—who was set to perform with his Coral Reefer Band at Credit One Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina, on May 20—notified fans of the update in a statement posted to his website on May 18.
"I had a sudden change of plans this week that affected us all," he shared. "Two days ago, I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California 'winter tour,' and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention."
However, the "Margaritaville" artist already had his mind on getting back to the stage.
"Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you," he added. "I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I'll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup."
And Buffett expressed his appreciation for all the love sent his way.
"You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico," he concluded. "Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, 'NOT YET!' Love to all JB."
Indeed, the musician received an outpouring of support from fans following the news.
"Your health is what's most important, JB," one follower tweeted. "Take care of yourself; we're not going anywhere. If you choose to get back out on the road, great, but only if it's in your best interest."
Added another, "Get better, that is what's important now."
This isn't the first time Buffett has had to postpone a show due to his health. Last September, the two-time Grammy nominee announced on Twitter that he had to "refrain from touring for the rest of the year," citing "health issues and brief hospitalization" as the reason for having to reschedule the shows for 2023.
"On doctor's orders, he must take this time to recuperate and heal," the announcement at the time read. "Jimmy looks forward to getting back on stage next year."
